This is a fanstastic journey visiting three archaeological sites. Please note that the tour of Nakum is available only during the dry season (from November to May).

DESCRIPTION

Day 1

• 8:00 a.m. Departure. We pick you up at your hotel with a minibus.
• 9:00 a.m. Arrival at Yaxha National Park, 80 km (50 miles) from Flores.
• Site exploration: upon arrival we will explore the archaeological site
• Lunch en route to Nakum
• Hike to Nakum: Lead by a local guide, expert in local wildlife and flora, we will walk 17 km (11 miles) to Nakum.
• Camping: upon arrival, we will set up camp (hammocks and camping equipment provided)
• Before dark, visit Nakum archaeological site.
• Dinner in Nakum
• Good night

Day 2:

• Wake up in the jungle.
• Breakfast in Nakum.
• Hike to El Acordeón: Hiking towards Tikal, after 35 km (22 miles) we will reach El Acordeon) where we will set up camp
• Lunch on the way
• Dinner at El Acordeon
• Good night

Day 3

• Wake up in the jungle.
• Breakfast at El Acordeon
• Hike to Tikal National Park: After breakfast, continue our hike to Tikal which is 17 km (10 miles) away – about 3 hours- in the jungle. The horses will leave us in El Acordeon, so we will hike our backpacks from here on.
• Lunch at a restaurant in Tikal.

Site Exploration: free afternoon to visit Tikal on your own.
After sunset, board the minibus to return to your hotel in Flores or Santa Elena.

THE TOUR INCLUDES:

• Transportation Flores – Yaxha and Tikal – Flores
• All meals included (3 lunches, 2 breakfasts, 2 dinners)
• Local community guides
• Park entrance fees
• Camping equipment (hammocks and mosquito netting)
• Purified water

• Horse to carry the luggage part of the way.
