Day 2: Caracol

07:00 hrs. Early Transfer to the Mountain Pine Ridge Area.

Drive to the Rio On pools and cascades where guests can cool off swimming in the cool pools or by sitting in their own natural Jacuzzi. Guests can also slide down a natural water slide or get a hydro-massage under a waterfall.

After this exciting tour an hour transfer to the archaeological site of Caracol the tour starts in the largest archeological site in Belize, covering 30 square miles wide, high canopy jungle, and includes five plazas, an astronomic observatory and over 35,000 buildings that have been identified. The loftiest among them, a massive pyramid (Caana) capped by three temples and rises over 140 feet above the jungle floor.

Day 3: Barton Creek – Cahal Pech

08:00 hrs. About 45 minutes from San Ignacio is an exciting canoe trip into a remote cave formerly used by the ancient Mayans as a burial site and for ceremonial purposes. A visit to Barton Creek Cave involves spending over an hour paddling canoes along an ancient Mayan waterway inside the mountain. Your guide will point out skulls and artifacts as you pass between stalactites. The cave is adorned with stalactites and stalagmites. Mayan pottery shards and bones can be observed by the guide’s spotlights.

Afternoon visit Cahal Pech Archaeological Site, it is small site and nearby in the vicinity of San Ignacio, known with its best feature of lots of shade trees which gives the environment an exclusive site and makes it a cool day.

Upon arrival to the site we will start the archaeological exploration in one of the oldest Mayan ruins on the planet, vivid with a contrast between the town and the jungle that makes your journey an idle experience while you enter in an atmosphere where life remains in its natural state and antique monuments become the silent testimony of a dynamic civilization that once existed.

Day 4: Xunantunich – Hopkins

Today, visit Xunantunich Archaeological Site, which is located across the green crystalline waters of the Mopan River; it’s the largest ceremonial center in the Belize River Valley, located on a natural limestone ridge providing a fantastic panoramic scene of the surrounding of the country from its hilltop location.

Enjoy a tour through one of the most important sites in Belize, dating with an essentially classic period ceremonial centre with three ceremonial plazas enclosed by house mounds, pyramids, and palaces, the largest decorated castle with stucco friezes and masks of Classic style.

After tour, unguided transfer to Hopkins area.

Day 5: Waterfall hike – Zip line – Belize City

Today, transfer to Bocawina National Park and take a guided hike with one of our experienced local guides through the Mayflower. Listen as the guide unlocks the secrets of this mystical and magical jungle habitat. Walk the undulating trail under the Bocawina Rainforest Canopy to the foot of Bocawina Falls and experience its natural beauty. Take a refreshing swim and relax in the waterfall pools below.

After lunch, glide like a bird through the pristine Rain Forest Canopy on the longest zip line in Belize with 14 platforms, 9 different runs. The complete course is 2.5 miles long with the longest single run being 2,300 feet. This zip line adventure has triple safety and the tour takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.

After tour, transfer to Belize City.

Day 6: Lamanai – San Pedro Ambergris

Today you will be transferred to Orange Walk where the tour of the archaeological site starts, Lamanai is one of Belize’s largest ceremonial centers.

The name “lamanai” comes from the word “submerged crocodile” in the Mayan language and many representations of the crocodile can be found throughout this site. This site, situated along the New River Lagoon, features monumental architecture of temples and palaces dating from the Classic and PreClassic Periods. The central area of the site covers approximately half a square mile. The central area plus the residential and other minor structures are spread over 950 acres, which is the present size of the official archaeological reserve.
