Testimonials

  • “8-day Antigua and Lake Atitlan Vacation”

My wife and I were looking for the kind of in-between vacation in Guatemala. You know, relax a little, but also see some things and do a not-too-difficult walk/hike here and there. We had about 8 days of vacation to work with, and had no idea how to go about things. A friend told us to contact Martsam Tours.

Martsam Tours was just wonderful. We explained our situation, and that we preferred a private driver and private guides (instead of traveling with a group). We also informed that we liked smaller hotels over the big chain hotels….and informed them that our budget was about 2K to 3K (not including flight tickets).

Our traveling agent at Martsam Tours arranged everything perfectly. From pick-up at the airport in Guatemala City to returning to Atlanta.

  • “Jungle trek el zotz tikal”

Our jungle trek was unforgetable. We were pleased with the organisation of the trip: good drivers, a good trip, Nice lunch, … the guide Alfonso did his verry best to explain us everything. Thanks to him we even learned a little bit Spanish Alfonso and his brother Philippo did everything they could to make the sleeping places as comfortable as possible. The first night we slept in a bed in a little house. The second night in open air in a hangmat. The food was verry good and hygienic

  • “Every detail just right”

We were a group of 5 arriving from Belize Airport and spending 2 days in Tikal. They arranged every detail of the trip (except the hotel, as I had a preference). Not only did they organize everything perfectly, they also gave us little tips along the way that made the trip so much better. Like asking the hotel for a boxed breakfast for our sunrise tour of Tikal. The drivers were accommodating and wonderful at their jobs. The Tikal guide was perfect for our group and went the extra distance to give us the best experience. And the office staff (Mary) was very attentive, even calling to see if we were enjoying the service. I contacted a lot of companies to organize our custom tour and no one else paid so close attention to what we wanted. And, truthfully, it was not super expensive. PS – I highly recommend the sunrise tour of Tikal. It’s painful to wake up at 3am, but sooooo worth it.
