We take off from La Aurora airport terminal or from Antigua Guatemala proceeding towards north west, through the bird’s-eye perspective you may enjoy the spectacular panorama over the fields of farming, spots of oak-pine forest and communities that constitute the landscape in the Guatemalan highlands.
At our arrival, the distinctive and breathtaking scenery of Lake Atitlán welcomes us with the wonderful vistas of picturesque villages encompassed by the Atitlán, San Pedro and Tolimán volcanoes.
Landing at Hotel Atitlan
Soon after landing at Hotel Atitlan helipad, you will take a boat trip towards villages of San Juan La Laguna and Santiago Atitlan to stop by the women’s textile cooperative here you’ll discover ancestral hand weaving methods, natural dye and learn about textiles, beliefs, and spiritualism of the T’zutujil Maya people.
Concluding the trip to these wonderful communities; you are going to get back to the hotel Atitlan to aboard the chopper in the direction of Antigua Guatemala or Guatemala City
Following this cultural immersion within the Mayan communities in the Lake Atitlan, we take off in the direction of the western side, starting the journey over San Jorge La Laguna and heading around the lake watching volcanoes Atitlan, San Pedro, and Toliman from the air.
The panoramic tour lasts approximately 12 minutes, then we get to San Miguel Dueñas, from this point it is possible to observe the Atacatenango and fire volcanoes, then a 360 is made in the area, and you get to the side of the Agua volcano in the direction of La Antigua Guatemala or the Aurora airport terminal in Guatemala City.

Approximately 85.000 years the area of Atitlan’s lake experience an intense and violent cataclysm forming an enormous crater. San Pedro’s, Toliman’s and Atitlan’s volcanoes formed 60.000 years after, giving origin to Atitlan’s lake.
Several activities are possible to practice in this privileged place like Hikes, bird watching, aquatic sports, and cultural immersion.
